The principal types of wine produced, solely from Sangiovese grapes, are the Rosso, which is subjected to aging of one year, as stipulatedto the market, and Brunello, whichis matured for five years, at least two of which are spent in oak casks. Other products available on the market: Poggio del Sasso, produced with Sangiovese grapes and Villa di Corsano, made with 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet
Sauvignon and 5% Merlot. In addition to wine, Cantina di Montalcino produces a grappa through distillation of the pomace of its
Brunello grapes.
